Cast of Skip Beat! holds press conference to boost ratings

Super Junior members Donghae and Siwon were in Taiwan yesterday to attend the press conference for “Skip Beat!” along with their costars Ivy Chen and Bianca Bai. During the press conference, all four of them wrote Chinese New Year Couplets. Since Donghae and Siwon had learned how to write in Chinese before, their couplets turned out to be written quite neatly.

Behind-the-scenes footages were shown for Donghae, Siwon, and Ivy, but there weren’t any for Bianca. Bianca explained, “I don’t have many scenes, so I don’t really mind.” GTV expressed on the other hand, “Bianca has been very cooperative at promotional events and she is also a lead character in ‘Skip Beat!’, but her scenes have not been broadcasted yet, so we can’t spoil it. That’s why we can’t play the behind-the-scenes clips with her. We’re very sorry.”

As reported previously, Kun Da’s dubbing for Siwon’s voice had been heavily criticized by the fans. He has now been replaced by the singer-songwriter/actor Nylon Chen (K.O.3an Guo & Four Gifts). Ivy, who is Kun Da’s girlfriend, also felt that Kun Da’s voice was too soft and believed that Nylon's voice suited the character better. She has also met a similar fate in the “Black & White” movie as all her scenes have been cut. However, Ivy said that she will go see the movie in theaters to show her support and made fun, “Both of us (her and Kun Da) worked for nothing. As long as we got paid, it’s fine.” Director Tsai Yueh-Hsun mentioned before that he will edit another version with Ivy in it, but Ivy expressed, “I'm not really looking forward to it.”

With the presidential election going on in Taiwan, some commented that Siwon looked like the young version of President Ma Ying-Jeou. Siwon praised President Ma, “It’s the first time I’ve seen such a good-looking president.”

Everyone's attention was on Donghae, Siwon, and Ivy.
