If anyone has been keeping track, Andrew Tan’s single, “Queen”, has been reigning the two top KTV charts for forty-one weeks and counting. Andrew expressed, “I want to thank the Taiwan fans very much. I hope that I can express myself to the fans through my singing.”
Andrew debuted after winning second place at a singing competition in Malaysia. When he was in the midst of preparing his second album, “Queen”, his record company was dissolved, thus, he collected songs and produced the album himself. He also filmed his own MV, which has been criticized by netizens for looking too old fashion. He exclaimed, “It’s because I have no money!” Andrew later ran into complications in obtaining a work permit, so he has been unable to promote in Taiwan, causing him to have no income for six months.
Luckily, he is finally able to obtain a work permit. He has just signed with Eagle Music and said in relief, “I’ve been hoping to have a team help me. Now that my wish has come true, I can go back being a singer...(I’m) very happy.” Andrew added that being able to perform is a big encouragement to him.
Andrew will be releasing his new single on the 23rd titled, “勢在必行” (Shi Zai Bi Xing), which is a duet with his new label-mate, Bii. They will also be holding a mini concert at Riverside Livehouse on the 24th.
